The following organizations are those who Bene Caribe have developed relationships with and continue to find ways to collaborate on special projects. 

 

 

 

 The Backpack Project is a non-profit initiative aimed at promoting health and education among Caribbean students between the ages of 5 to 18. This project, which was started in December 2008, assists students of impoverished families to pursue their educational goals.

Pre-packaged backpacks containing school and personal supplies are sent confidentially to students, to provide them with the educational resources they need such as books and stationery, as well as items to assist with personal hygiene. Students are identified by Caribbean educators who notify the organization of their needs. Backpacks are then assembled and sent to the students.

Conflict Women, Ltd buys and sells jewelry and art handcrafted by survivors of domestic and sexual violence. You can get involved in the following ways:

  • Become a retail partner and market our jewelry and art in your business;
  • Partner to host a Conflict Women tea party and increase awareness around gender-based violence; or

MAMATOTO, Swahili for mother-baby, a non-profit organisation was formed in 2001. Established by a group of midwives and mothers, their goal is to educate women and their families to make informed choices in reproductive health. Mamatoto is committed to establishing community based, accessible, equitable and innovative childbirth services. Nature Seekers aims to protect and conserve wild flora and fauna by developing the natural and cultural resources of the community and providing superior quality products and services for our customers & partners to achieve long term valued relationships.

Turtle Warriors TT is a project of Nature Seekers:

Local crafts men and women transform everyday waste objects from the lively beach side community of Matura into one of a kind treasures. Waste glass is melted and recycled into sparkling jewels, seeds are collected and prepared, waste paper is rolled into beads and coconuts sanded and carved to create gorgeous jewellery and accessories. this provides skills training for sustainable livelihoods and simultaneously keeps the environment clean to provide a safe nesting area for endangered sea turtles. 

The majestic leatherback turtle is the largest of all sea turtles, every year hundreds of this critically endangered species come to nest in the rural beachside community of Matura in Trinidad & Tobago.

PSI Caribbean - Make It Stop (Supported by Bene Caribe)   PSI Caribbean (PSI/C) is an affiliate of the global health organization Population Services International (PSI). Headquartered in Port of Spain Trinidad, and founded in 2005, PSI/C has been working to measurably contribute to the development of favourable environments that facilitate healthy lives with a focus on those with high-risk behaviour.  Through its Make It Stop – Gender Based Violence Prevention Project in Trinidad and Tobago, PSI/C is seeking to contribute to the reduction of the prevalence of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and to ensure the health and safety of women and girls

The Voice of Lupus Foundation (VLF) is a non-profit organization that seeks to heighten public awareness of lupus and its impact in Trinidad and Tobago. VLF provide support to those individuals who have been diagnosed and are battling with lupus, as well as their families, friends and caregivers. Most importantly, VLF is striving to give those who have lupus a VOICE!
